For the Love of God, Damien Hirst, 2007
This is a human skull encrusted with 8500+ ethically sourced diamonds. Does the fact that the diamonds being ethically sourced affect our reading of the piece? Ie. It's serious (a human skull) but not THAT serious ( Hirst would go pretty far but not as far as to contribute to the diamond trade which notoriously fuels conflict)
